Kelly Hailey has spent his life pursuing diverse creative paths. As a child he could often be found lingering backstage at the performances of various Nationally renowned music acts for which his father was an agent. As a boy Kelly discovered his aptitude for music, following his passion to the esteemed Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where he studied sound and lighting while assisting in the design and creation of elaborate stage sets for theatrical performances at The Conservatory, all the while continuing to play his drums and touring with various bands.

In 2005 Kelly’s wanderlust took him to the coast of Maine which he immediately preferred to Ohio. He settled in the Midcoast where he applied his wood working skills  to numerous home renovation and restoration projects in the region. In May 2008 Kelly moved to Hope, Maine and set to work building a simple kitchen table for his new home. In building that farm table Kelly found a passion and talent for crafting simple, elegant furniture and a new venture was born.

By fall of 2008 Kelly was commissioned to single-handedly design and build the tables for Shepherd’s Pie, a hotly anticipated bistro regarded as part of the revitalization of the small seaside village of Rockport. Kelly has since been commissioned to create numerous furniture pieces for businesses including Camden Real Estate and Salt Water Farm as well as private residential clients. He has continued to work on his own collection throughout and is constantly producing a stream of evolving designs from traditional to eclectic.

Kelly strives to work closely with his clients approaching each job with a fresh, individual perspective and working to shape client vision into material reality. Each of his pieces is fully handcrafted and hand-finished, and his relationships with local wood purveyors from all walks gives him unique access to a variety of exceptional materials. Kelly loves to work with both new and reclaimed wood and his pieces are both high-quality and sustainable. Each of the pieces Kelly sells, from stock or commission, is entirely unique and one-of-a-kind.
